Why choose the genuine HP 201A toner cartridge
The CF400A is the extra high yield black cartridge of the HP 201 series. All-in-one cartridge: toner, imaging drum and developer are replaced together, so print quality is like new at every change, with no separate drum to replace. Genuine HP toner with JetIntelligence: smart level tracking, anti-fraud technology and maximized yield.
201A or 201X: which capacity?
The CF400A (1,420 pages) suits occasional or moderate use. From about a hundred pages a month, the CF400X (2,800 pages) costs less per page and is replaced less often; both fit the same printers. The CF400XD pack (2 cartridges) lowers the unit cost further.

The CF400A is compatible with 2 HP models (manufacturer list):

- HP Color LaserJet Pro M252n (B4A21A)
Check the exact reference of your printer (label at the back or Information menu); suffixes (dn, dw, fdw, n) are variants of the same series and use the same consumables.
Page yield
1,420 pages per ISO/IEC 19752 (5% coverage, letter-type documents). Graphics or photo-heavy pages reduce the actual yield. The cost per page shown next to the price is calculated from the current price and this yield.
Installation and maintenance
Tool-free replacement: open the cover, remove the used cartridge, take the new one out of its bag, rock it gently to distribute the toner, pull the protective tab if present, then insert until it clicks. The printer recognizes the cartridge and resets the counter. Used HP cartridges are returned free of charge through HP Planet Partners.
Use and tips
The CF400A suits a lightly used printer (letters, a few documents a week): the cartridge (1,420 pages) lasts about 5 months at 300 pages per month and about 1 months at 1,000 pages per month. Beyond that, the CF400X (2,800 pages) costs less per page.
Store the cartridge in its packaging, flat, away from light and humidity, and unpack it only when installing. At the "Low" alert, order: the printer keeps printing until "Very low" then "Replace". The driver's EconoMode extends life for drafts. Genuine cartridges preserve the printer's HP warranty.
